Symptoms include redness (erythema), itching and burning (pruritus), and flaking of the part of the skin which has come in contact with the allergen. Tinea or fungal infection of the skin is also called ringworm, athlete's foot, and jock itch. The symptoms are red or cracked skin, rash, itching, bald spots, and flaking of skin. Tinea is usually transferred by contact with the infected person or damp surfaces such as gyms and showers harboring the microbe. Acne vulgaris (acne, white head, black head, pimple, zits, comedones, pustules, cyst, pustule, boil, folliculitis) are clogged sebaceous glands which can also become infected. It can be caused by adrenal gland hormones during puberty, skin lubricants and creams and cosmetics, certain drugs, hair removal, certain food, dirt, stress, or can be hereditary. |

Psoriasis is thought to be an immune mediated and genetic condition that causes itching, cracked skin which bleeds easily. It can also involve other body parts like nails and joints. |
